Malcolm Advisory Planning Commission

The Malcolm Advisory Planning Commission is elected to provide advice to the Regional District Board regarding planning issues on Malcolm I. (including Sointula). The Commission meets on the first Monday of each month in the basement in FO Hall. All are welcome to attend.

Sewer System 

A sewage collection and treatment system is in place to serve the community of Sointula. For emergencies involving the sewer system call the Sointula Sewer Technician @ 250-974-7074 or the Regional District of Mount Waddington Local Services Department @ 250-956-3301.

Water System

The community water system serving Sointula is operated by a private utility. For more information call the Sointula Water Works District @ 250-973-2308 

Sointula Recreation Association

The Regional District established a Local Service for the purpose of providing funding to the Sointula Recreation Association to operate and repair community recreation buildings and facilities established a Local Service within a portion of Electoral Area "A".

The Sointula Recreation Association looks after the Finnish Order Hall, a community hall and baseball field. The association also sponsors a number of community recreation initiatives. For further information on recreation services in Sointula.
