Parks & Recreation
The Regional District of Mount Waddington plays a crucial role in planning, developing, and maintaining parks and recreation services across urban and rural communities. These services enhance quality of life, promote environmental stewardship, and foster community well-being.
The RDMW is home to a stunning variety of parks that showcase rugged coastlines, lush forests, and unique geological features:
- Known for whale watching—especially orcas rubbing on the rocks!
- Features the Beautiful Bay Trail and 30 forested campsites near the beach.
- Offers serviced RV sites and tent camping near the Quatse River.
- Close to the Salmon Centre and hatchery.
- A remote, first-come-first-serve site ideal for wilderness camping.
- A scenic driving route with karst formations and interpretive stops.
- Features limestone caves and a short trail—great for geology lovers.
- A community-run ski hill with deep powder and backcountry terrain.
