Local Government Climate Action Plan

The Local Government Climate Action Program (LGCAP), known prior to 2021 as The Climate Action Review Incentive Program (CARIP), is a conditional grant program that provides funding to BC Climate Actions Charter signatories. This funding supports local governments in their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and move forward on achieving their Charter goals.

As a LGCAP (formerly CARIP) participant, the Regional District of Mount Waddington is committed to the development of strategies to achieve the following three goals:

  • Being carbon neutral in their corporate operations;
  • Measure and report on their community Green House Gas (GHG) emmissions profile; and,
  • Create complete, compact, more energy-efficient rural and urban communities.
